Reproachful letter to Erdoğan from a Palestinian doctor in Gaza: 'History will write you this way'

Dr. Sahr Hamad, who serves in the Gaza Strip, stated in a letter to President Erdoğan that Turkey has remained silent in the face of the massacres in Gaza, saying, "We only asked for water, bread, and a humanitarian aid corridor. But nothing arrived."

Palestinian Dr. Sahr Hamad, who serves in the Gaza Strip, announced the letter he wrote to the President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan to the public through Gazan journalist Mohammed AbuTaqiya.

According to the report in Karar newspaper, Hamad stated that they were left alone during the massacres in Gaza, saying, "Mr. President, we knew you to be on the side of the oppressed, but... It deeply saddened us to see Turkey withdraw—at least through silence or inaction—at Gaza's most difficult moment."

Reminding that Gaza has been under intense attacks and a heavy blockade for over 600 days, Hamad used the following expressions:

*Thousands of martyrs have been given, tens of thousands have been wounded. A people is being destroyed by fire, hunger, and siege. By God, Mr. President, we did not ask for military support from you; we only asked for water, food, and a real aid corridor.

*Yet, while the oppressors deliver all their weapons, you could not even deliver a bottle of water or a piece of bread to us.

"HISTORY WILL WRITE YOU THIS WAY"

Dr. Hamad, recalling the expressions used by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the past toward Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, included the following assessments in his letter:

"You once said to Netanyahu: 'How many more people do you want to die so that you can stop this war??'

History will write this: (During President Erdoğan's term, Gaza was massacred and this was not prevented).

"WE WERE DECEIVED BY YOUR WORDS"

Our love for you was for the sake of Allah, but today you are like the other leaders in the Islamic world. More than 60 thousand people have been killed, and you are just watching. Your words did not go beyond your throats; unfortunately, we were deceived."

The full text of the letter is as follows:

"Say: Work! Allah, His Messenger, and the believers will see your deeds." (At-Tawbah: 105)

"Mr. President, we loved you, we always wished for victory for you, we wanted you to raise the banner of truth, we knew you to be on the side of the oppressed, but..

However, after all this massacre, displacement, and hunger, it surprised and deeply saddened us to see Turkey withdraw—at least through silence or inaction—at Gaza's most difficult moment, and to see us left alone against the Nazi Israeli army, the most ruthless and savage army in the world.

Mr. President, leave aside your diplomatic initiatives before international institutions; because from the past to the present, they have neither been able to stop the blood nor prevent the massacres.. You showed respect for international law, but where is the law of Allah? Where is the Sunnah of His Prophet (pbuh)?

Have you not heard this saying of our beloved Prophet (pbuh)?:

“Whoever abandons a Muslim in a place where his dignity is trampled upon and his honor is violated, Allah will abandon him on a day when he expects help. And whoever comes to the aid of a Muslim in a place where his honor is violated, Allah will help him on a day when he wants help.”

Thousands of martyrs have been given and tens of thousands have been wounded under the massacre, destruction, and siege that has been going on for over six hundred days in Gaza. A people is being destroyed before the eyes of the world, on one hand by fire, and on the other by hunger and siege. Do you not see this? Is the continuation of this oppression not you turning your back on us?

Where is the brotherhood of faith commanded by Allah? Where is the duty of brotherhood you express in your speeches?? Where is your responsibility, which is fard (obligatory) upon you, regarding Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy lands?

By God, Mr. President, we did not ask for military support from you—which is also a right—we only asked for water, food, and a real aid corridor and steps that would stop the oppressor and save the oppressed. Yet, while the oppressors deliver all their weapons and support elements to the criminal and the oppressor, you could not even deliver a bottle of water or a piece of bread to us..!

With what will we question you in the sight of Allah? With the blood of our children? With the massacres? Or with your silence in the true sense?

You once said to Netanyahu: “How many more people do you want to die so that you can stop this war??”

Today I ask you: How many more martyrs do we need to give for you to take a stance like Sultan Abdulhamid?

History will write this: (During President Erdoğan's term, Gaza was massacred and this was not prevented.)

These words are the reproachful words of a lover who trusted you and expected help from you. We do not hold those we do not love to account.

Our love for you was for the sake of Allah, but today you are like the other leaders in the Arab and Islamic world.

We may be weak in the international arena and according to world calculations; but we are very, very strong in the sight of Allah and with His help..

Our meeting place is the place where rights are not lost… It is the presence of Allah…

Let Allah be witness that you abandoned us, and we declare you our adversary in the sight of Allah.

Despite all our love, Gaza was destroyed during your term.

More than 60 thousand people were killed, and you are just watching…

Victory is from Allah, not from humans.

Your words and all your speeches did not go beyond your throats…

Unfortunately, we were deceived…

Finally, my dear brother; I warn you against being among those mentioned in this verse of Allah:

“Allah left behind those whom He did not want to go out to war and discouraged them...”

And I also warn you against being among those mentioned in this saying of our Prophet regarding his Ummah:

“Your numbers will be many, but you will be scattered like the foam of the sea…”

May Allah not leave you without help in this test.

With greetings and prayers..

Dr. Sahr Hamad
