Greece plans to offer financial support of up to 10 thousand Euros to families who permanently settle in the villages of Soufli, Orestiada, and Didymoteicho, located in the Evros regional unit on the Turkish border. This incentive will apply to those who settle in villages with a population of under 500.
DRAFT LAW IN PARLIAMENT
Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Sofia Zacharaki has submitted a draft law to the Greek Parliament prepared to prevent population decline in border villages. The bill provides for a payment of 6 thousand Euros to families moving to settlements with a population of more than 500, with an additional payment of 1 thousand Euros for each young child.
8 MILLION EURO BUDGET ALLOCATED FOR THE PROJECT
This draft law, which aims to strengthen the demographic structure of the Evros region, is supported by a total budget of 8 million Euros as part of the region's development and reconstruction plan. This initiative, which is expected to be approved by the Greek Parliament, aims to increase the population of the border region and stimulate economic recovery.
