Russia's claim against the US: Planning a 'color revolution' for Georgia

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has alleged that the US is planning a "color revolution" during the parliamentary elections in Georgia.

The statement from the SVR noted that parliamentary elections are set to be held in Georgia on October 26.

Asserting that "the US is unhappy with the situation in Georgia ahead of the elections," the statement included the following remarks:

'WASHINGTON IS PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO YOUNG OPPOSITION FORCES'

"The Americans are planning to organize a color revolution in Georgia. During the planned protest demonstrations, information claiming that the elections were rigged will be presented, and a change of government will be demanded. Law enforcement agencies will be provoked into using force to suppress the protests. Washington is providing additional financial support to young opposition forces who will lead the post-election protests."

The statement indicated that the ruling Georgian Dream Party could win the public's trust in the elections, adding, "For this reason, attempts will be made to prevent the party from achieving victory in the elections. The US will increase its pressure on Georgia before the elections and impose sanctions on certain individuals."
