Russia deploys 100,000 new troops against the West: Claims of preparing for war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is not preparing for negotiations, but for a long-term war. Claiming that Russia has deployed 100,000 new troops to the front lines against Ukraine and the Baltic states, Zelenskyy called on Western countries to support Ukraine.

Claiming that the Russian Armed Forces have recruited 100,000 people, Zelenskyy reported that the new units have been deployed not only against Ukraine but also against the Baltic states. Zelenskyy's statement underscored that Russia is preparing to take action against the Baltic countries.
Putin has stated that the Baltic countries are not among his targets. Despite Putin's statements, Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian military intelligence has recorded that 100,000 new soldiers have joined the Russian army.
Evaluating the negotiation discussions between Ukraine and Russia, Zelenskyy used the following expressions in a post on his X account:
''... This means something simple: What Putin is preparing is not negotiations or peace, but the continuation of the war, and not just against us. Now, more than one hundred thousand soldiers have joined his army. All our allies should know and see this.''
Touching upon their alliance with NATO, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine needs more support and stated the following:
''Today, the new Chair of the NATO Military Committee is in Ukraine. He is making his first visit specifically to Kyiv to show support for Ukrainians. We appreciate this. ... we discussed our joint defense needs.''
WILL RUSSIA GO TO WAR WITH THE WEST?
Warning Western countries that Russia is preparing for war, Zelenskyy cautioned that the Baltic states could be targeted by Moscow. The Baltic states, which were under Russian dominance during the Soviet era, have begun building defense lines on their borders with Russia and Belarus against a possible attack.
Speaking about the possibility of a conflict between Russia and the West, Zelenskyy warned his allies with these words:
''We must see together what the threats are and what countermeasures we have. We need a clear understanding. Every country in Europe will have to strengthen its defense, and the goal of allocating 5 percent of GDP for defense will remain on the agenda.''
In an interview he gave to Reuters previously, Zelenskyy spoke about the potential problems that would be caused by a ceasefire where the occupation is not completely eliminated. Arguing that if Russia is not removed from Ukraine, it will earn trillions of dollars from the country's natural resources, Zelenskyy claimed that Putin will target other countries in the future.
