Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Russian army carried out a large-scale air attack on the country's energy infrastructure. It was alleged that British and French soldiers were also killed in the attack, which targeted infrastructure facilities across the country. Zelenskyy stated that Russia used nearly 70 missiles and approximately 200 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in this attack. It was reported that the attacks targeted energy facilities in the Odessa, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Ternopil regions. In the city of Kharkiv, missile attacks were carried out against civilian infrastructure.
Zelenskyy stated that F-16s and Mirage 2000 fighter jets, which France provided to Ukraine last month, were used to intercept Russian missiles. Noting that ''the Mirages successfully stopped the cruise missiles,'' Zelenskyy claimed that Russia specifically targeted civilian infrastructure as a result of the attack.
According to a Reuters report, Russia has recently increased its attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities. These attacks have seriously affected the country's energy production and distribution capacity. While Ukrainian officials called for support from the international community, they emphasized that Russia must stop its attacks.
Emphasizing that Russia is the sole party responsible for the war, Zelenskyy stated the following:
''For peace, Russia must stop its missile attacks in the air and at sea. Ukraine has been striving for peace since the first second of the war. Our goal is to force Russia to end the war.''

The Russian news agency RT News headlined the claim that French and British NATO soldiers were targeted in the attacks. While it was claimed that NATO officers stationed in the Kharkiv region in an advisory capacity were killed as a result of the attack, Ukrainian and NATO officials have not made a statement regarding the matter.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that 8 people were injured in the missile attack on the city's civilian infrastructure. Terekhov stated that the attack caused serious damage in the region.
Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko condemned Russia's attacks on energy and natural gas infrastructure across the country. Galushchenko said, 'Russia's goal is to leave our people without electricity and heating.'
