Russia summons Israel's Ambassador to Moscow to the Foreign Ministry

The chargés d'affaires of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia were also summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry due to the presidential elections scheduled to be held in Russia on March 15.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that the relevant chargés d'affaires were summoned to the ministry regarding the ballot boxes to be set up in their countries, saying, "On February 6, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the chargés d'affaires of the Baltic states in Moscow due to the failure of the Latvian, Lithuanian, and Estonian authorities to provide an adequate response to repeated requests to ensure security at polling stations in the Russian embassies in Vilnius, Riga, and Tallinn during the presidential elections to be held in March.”

Stating that they demanded the relevant countries ensure election security during the voting, Zakharova said, "In this context, the Latvian, Lithuanian, and Estonian authorities were requested to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of voters and Russian embassy staff during the voting period.”
