Russia-Ukraine talks to continue in Istanbul at the end of June
Turkish diplomatic sources have announced that Russia and Ukraine will sit at the negotiating table once again in Istanbul at the end of June. While significant progress was made in prisoner exchanges during previous meetings, it is stated that the parties will continue to take constructive steps toward long-term peace.

The Russia and Ukraine delegations, which met in Istanbul on May 16 and June 2, are preparing to sit at the table once again. Turkish diplomatic sources indicated that the 3rd round of Russia-Ukraine talks is expected to take place at the end of June.
In the last meetings held on June 2, progress was made regarding prisoner exchanges. The head of the Russian delegation, Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky, announced on June 2 that the parties had agreed on the "most comprehensive" prisoner exchange.

Making a statement after the meetings, the head of the Russian negotiation delegation, Medinsky, stated that they were generally satisfied with the outcome of the meeting at the Dolmabahçe Working Office and that they were ready to maintain contact with Ukraine. Medinsky also announced that they had reached an agreement on a 1000-for-1000 prisoner exchange with Ukraine, and this process was completed in full as a result of three stages carried out on May 23-24-25.
Medinsky had also emphasized that Russia and Ukraine would present their visions regarding a possible ceasefire in detail, and that negotiations would continue afterward. The Russian delegation, tasked with ensuring long-term peace and eliminating the root causes of the conflict under the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, declared its determination to ensure a constructive approach and to seek ways to resolve the dispute.
