Russian President Vladimir Putin assesses the Israel-Palestine conflict: 'A clear example of the failure of US policy'

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani at the Kremlin Palace. Speaking at the beginning of the meeting, Putin made assessments regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict. Stating that the situation in the Middle East has sharply deteriorated, Putin said, "This is a clear example of the failure of US policy in the Middle East, which has attempted to monopolize the resolution of the crisis."

"THEY ARE APPLYING PRESSURE ON BOTH SIDES"

Expressing that the US is not interested in finding acceptable compromises for both Israel and Palestine, but rather pushes its own ideas, Putin said, "They were applying pressure on both sides. By applying this pressure, the US has consistently ignored the fundamental interests of the Palestinian people and the need to implement the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions regarding the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state."

Putin emphasized that Russia's position is to minimize and reduce to zero the harm caused to the civilian population.

ASSESSMENT FROM AL-SUDANI

Iraqi Prime Minister al-Sudani, regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict, assessed, "This is the result of Israel's continued violations of Palestinian rights, the silence of the international community, and the failure to fulfill obligations under UN resolutions. Now we are witnessing a new intifada, an uprising of the Palestinians, and a desire to stop the violation of their rights."

Pointing out that the escalation of tension is "very dangerous," al-Sudani stated that civilians are dying, civilian areas are being bombed, and all of this is leading to the destruction of Gaza.

Noting that Arab and Muslim countries bear responsibility regarding the situation in Gaza, al-Sudani added that members of the UNSC also have a moral responsibility, along with Russia, to prevent the violation of the rights of the Palestinian people and to lift the embargo on Gaza.
