The incident was brought to light by a video published by the entertainment site TMZ and spread rapidly on social media. While there has been no official denial from the White House regarding the authenticity of the footage, White House spokesperson Steven Cheung stated to Reuters, "A lunatic was shouting profanities uncontrollably. The President gave an appropriate and clear response."
It was noted that while Trump was touring the factory, many Ford employees supported the President with applause, took photos, and some chanted. This visit to Michigan stood out as an event where the US administration emphasized its message of encouraging domestic production and employment.
