Scotland's new First Minister has been determined
Following the resignation of Humza Yousaf in Scotland, John Swinney has been elected as the country's new First Minister.

Scotland's first Muslim First Minister, Humza Yousaf, resigned from his post on April 29, and the country's new leader has now been determined.
60-year-old John Swinney, who was elected leader of the ruling pro-independence Scottish National Party (SNP) yesterday, became the country's new First Minister following a vote in parliament.
Swinney received the support of 64 members of parliament in the vote, while his closest rival, Douglas Ross, received the support of 31 members.
As the SNP leads a minority government in the 129-seat Scottish Parliament, Swinney will need the support of another party to form a coalition or pass legislation.
Humza Yousaf announced last Monday that he would resign in the face of the possibility of losing a vote of no confidence in the Scottish Parliament, having fallen into a dispute with his small coalition partners, the Scottish Green Party, over climate policy.
