Second visit to Iraq by MIT Chief Kalın: Met with Barzani

National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Chief İbrahim Kalın held a series of meetings in the Iraqi city of Erbil.

According to information obtained from security sources, MIT Chief İbrahim Kalın held talks in Erbil today following his visit to Baghdad last week.

MANY TOPICS INCLUDING 'PKK' DISCUSSED

Kalın held meetings with Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, Minister of Interior Reber Ahmed, and local officials, as well as Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITC) President Hasan Turan and ITC Kirkuk MP Erşat Salihi.

During the meetings, regional developments, bilateral relations, and effective combat against PKK terrorism were discussed, and Turkey's determination in the fight against terrorism was clearly emphasized to the counterparts.

During his visit to Iraq last week, Kalın had also met with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, as well as Shiite and Sunni groups and Turkmen representatives.
