Secretary of State Rubio announces Trump's visit to Turkey: He will attend the NATO summit in person
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that President Donald Trump will "personally attend" the NATO Summit in Ankara.

Rubio answered questions from the House Foreign Affairs Committee regarding President Donald Trump's fiscal year 2027 budget request for the State Department and other international issues.
Briefing members of the House of Representatives on the NATO Summit, Rubio said, "The President will personally attend the next NATO Heads of State meeting."
Regarding the summit to be held in Turkey's capital, Ankara, Rubio stated, "I think the next meeting that NATO will hold in Turkey in July will likely be the most important meeting in NATO history."
The U.S. Secretary of State said there are "some things that need to be clarified and corrected" at the summit in Ankara.
Reminding that his country is still a member of the Alliance, Rubio noted that NATO needs "significant changes" and that these changes will be discussed at the summit to be held in Turkey's capital on July 7-8.
