World-renowned artist Shakira was hospitalized in Peru, where she was staying for a concert, due to a stomach ailment. In a statement, Shakira said, "I regret to inform you all that I had to go to the emergency room last night due to an ailment in my abdominal area and I am currently in the hospital. The doctors have told me that I am not well enough to perform this evening. I hope to be better tomorrow and to be discharged from the hospital as soon as possible to present the show I have prepared for you."

Shakira was scheduled to perform tomorrow in Lima, the capital of Peru, for the first time in 10 years as part of her tour that began in Brazil last week.
