Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, one of the founders of the UAE, has died
It has been announced that Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Ain Region who was involved in the founding process of the United Arab Emirates, has passed away.

In a statement from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) news agency WAM, it was stated that UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is "deeply saddened" by the death of his uncle, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Ain Region.
Following the death of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed, flags in the country have been lowered to half-mast and a 7-day mourning period has been declared.
It was noted that from a young age, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed was by the side of the UAE's founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and gained experience under his guidance.
It was stated that Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed worked alongside the UAE's founder, Al Nahyan, during the process of the UAE's establishment in 1971.
It was reported that Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed served as the Minister of Agriculture in the UAE and as the director of the UAE's oil and gas company, ADNOC.
