Shocking truth revealed: She kept her son's body in her home for two months

Striking revelations are included in the new book "From Here to the Great Unknown," which was completed by actress daughter Riley Keough following the death of Elvis Presley's daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away in January of last year.
According to Lisa Marie Presley's memoir, completed by her daughter Riley Keough, the body of her 27-year-old son, Benjamin Keough, remained at home for two months before a funeral service was held.
Stating that she was devastated after the death of her son Benjamin Keough, Lisa Marie notes in her book that she had to force herself to "fight" to stay alive for her children, Riley and her twin daughters, Harper and Finley Lockwood.
'SHE KEPT THE BODY ON DRY ICE FOR A WHILE'
According to the book, Benjamin was kept on dry ice because there is no law in California regarding when a body must be buried.
Keough, an actress in the series Daisy Jones & the Six, said, "It was very important for my mom to have enough time to say goodbye to him, just as she did with her father."
"They told us that if we could take care of his body, we could keep him at home, so she kept him on dry ice in our house for a while," wrote Keough, who used the tapes where her mother shared her memories to finish the book. "It was really important for my mom to have plenty of time to say goodbye to him, just as she did with her father. And I would go and sit there with him."
Presley described keeping her son's lifeless body in her home in the book as follows: "I think it would terrify anybody else to have their son's body in there. But not me."
Lisa Marie even brought a tattoo artist to the house where she kept her son's body. She wanted to get a tattoo identical to the one her son had.
Her daughter Riley described those moments in the book as follows;
"It was just a moment she always wanted to remember, so she wanted to get a matching tattoo with him," the actress explained, "And the tattoo artist was at my house and she wanted the tattoo to be exactly right. 'Do you have any photos?' she asked."
Despite Riley's shock, her mother said: "No, but I can show you." The Daisy Jones and the Six actress could not believe what she heard. "I stayed quiet because it was my mom and she was doing what she wanted, but it was one of the most absurd moments," she said.
Presley, the only child of the legendary Elvis Presley, was nine years old when he died of a heart attack in 1977 at the age of 42. Lisa Marie's son, Benjamin, died by suicide in 2020. Presley herself passed away in January 2023 at the age of 54 due to complications from a previous weight-loss surgery.
