Two people lost their lives after a small plane crashed in the US state of California.

The Truckee Police Department provided details regarding the small plane crash in a statement on its social media account.
The statement noted that the "Socata TBM" single-engine aircraft crashed near the town of Truckee in the state of California while attempting to land at the Truckee Tahoe Airport.
Stating that 2 people lost their lives as a result of the accident, the statement indicated that the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will conduct a joint investigation into the crash.
