Israel Defense Forces (IDF) sources have stated that a ground invasion operation into Southern Lebanon could begin within the next few days.
According to a report by The Jerusalem Post, Israel has not yet made a definitive decision regarding the scope and scale of the operation, but it was noted that the invasion would initially be limited to Southern Lebanon.
The Israel Defense Forces have assessed that Hezbollah has shown weaker resistance than expected against the attacks carried out over the last two weeks.
However, taking into account the concerns of the West and the US, Israel aims to avoid being seen as an occupying force in Lebanon. For this reason, it is emphasized that the operation will be carried out within the framework of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
Nevertheless, it was also reported that there is a possibility that the invasion operation could be postponed. It was highlighted that factors such as Hezbollah achieving a sudden success, signaling openness to negotiations, or increased US pressure on Israel could delay the operation.
