South Korea, the US, and Japan conduct their first joint military air exercise
The first joint military air exercise between South Korea, the US, and Japan, aimed at "strengthening security cooperation against North Korean threats," was held near the Korean Peninsula.

According to a statement by the South Korean Air Force, the exercise, which took place south of the Korean Peninsula, involved a US "B-52H" strategic bomber as well as fighter jets from all three countries.
According to the statement issued by the Air Force, the exercise was conductedto enhance the three countries' response capabilities against North Korea's advancing nuclear and missile threats.
FIRST JOINT EXERCISE
While the exercise demonstrates solidarity among the three nations, the Air Force aims to "further develop" trilateral cooperation based on the South Korea-US alliance.
