Travel ban for South Korean President Yoon: Corruption investigation continues!
A travel ban has been imposed on President Yoon Suk Yeol as part of the 'treason' investigation launched against him due to his declaration of martial law on December 3 in South Korea.

In South Korea, Oh Dong-woon, head of the Corruption Investigation Office (CIO), stated in his address to the National Assembly that he had ordered a travel ban for President Yoon as part of the investigation launched against the high-ranking state official.
"TRAVEL BAN IMPOSED"
Following Oh's instruction, the South Korean Ministry of Justice announced that a travel ban had been imposed on Yoon.
The police official leading the investigation stated that securing evidence was the priority in the probe against Yoon, and that a comprehensive assessment, "including the possibility of leaving the country," had been conducted for this purpose.
"WHAT HAD HAPPENED?"
President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law on the night of December 3 in a televised address, citing "the opposition's involvement in anti-state activities," but he stepped back after the parliament voted to lift the decision and the Cabinet approved it.
Accusing the opposition of "preventing the government from functioning," Yoon had argued that martial law was "aimed at eliminating pro-North Korean forces and protecting the constitutional order of freedom."
"SOLDIERS ENTERED THE ASSEMBLY AFTER MARTIAL LAW"
Following the declaration of martial law, the Ministry of Defense had ordered commanders in the army to meet and called for them to be on high alert. Meanwhile, it was reported that soldiers assigned as "martial law troops" had entered the National Assembly.
In the emergency session held at the National Assembly, the motion to lift the martial law decision was accepted with the votes of 190 lawmakers.
The Office of the National Assembly Speaker had announced that the martial law became "null and void" following the vote.
Upon this, Yoon, who convened the Cabinet, announced that he had ended martial law following the Cabinet's approval.
"OPPOSITION CALLED FOR REMOVAL FROM OFFICE"
The main opposition Democratic Party and 5 smaller opposition parties had submitted a motion to the assembly for the removal of the president on the grounds that Yoon's declaration of martial law was contrary to the constitution and laws.
The motion, which required the approval of 200 lawmakers to pass, was not accepted as the sufficient number could not be reached.
