Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has announced that they will recognize the Palestinian state before the summer.

Sanchez made the remarks to journalists on the plane while traveling to Jordan, the first stop of his three-day Middle East visit.
According to reports in the Spanish press, Sanchez stated that he believes significant developments will occur within the international community between April and June regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas, noting that attention should be paid to discussions in the United Nations in the coming weeks aimed at recognizing Palestine as a full member.
Announcing that the joint decision taken with the prime ministers of Ireland, Malta, and Slovenia to recognize the Palestinian state, provided that the right conditions are met, will be implemented before the summer, Sanchez noted that his country will first take the decision to recognize the Palestinian state in the Council of Ministers and then submit it to Parliament.
Sanchez emphasized that he believes the only way to guarantee peace and security in the region during the open war between Israel and Hamas is the recognition of Palestine.
The Spanish Prime Minister will travel to Saudi Arabia and Qatar after Jordan.
