In a statement from the German Foreign Ministry, it was reported that the allegations against Ali S., who was arrested in Denmark on charges of spying for Iran to gather information on Jewish sites and individuals in the capital, Berlin, must be fully investigated.
"We do not tolerate any threats against Jewish life in Germany," the statement said, adding, "Today, Iranian Ambassador Majid Nili Ahmadabadi was summoned to the Foreign Ministry."
SUSPECT TO BE EXTRADITED TO GERMANY
The German Federal Public Prosecutor's Office announced today that 53-year-old Ali S. was arrested on June 26 in the Danish city of Aarhus on espionage charges. It was announced that the suspect, Ali S., would be brought before a judge following his extradition from Denmark to Germany. It was alleged that since the beginning of this year, Ali S. had been tasked by Iranian intelligence with gathering information on Jewish centers and specific Jewish individuals in Berlin.
