State of emergency declared in 3 regions of Peru: Forest fires are growing
Forest fires have spread across 3 separate regions in Peru. Due to the wildfires that cannot be brought under control, the central government has declared a state of emergency in these 3 regions.

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte has announced that a state of emergency has been declared in 3 regions affected by forest fires that have claimed 16 lives so far.
In her statement, President Boluarte recalled that forest fires have been ongoing since July in the San Martin, Ucayali, and Amazonas regions.
Boluarte stated that a state of emergency has been declared in these regions.
THEY ARE FIGHTING 150 SEPARATE FOREST FIRES SIMULTANEOUSLY
Noting that more than 230 forest fires have broken out in San Martin, Ucayali, and Amazonas, Boluarte reported that approximately 80 percent of these have been brought under control. Officials stated that efforts are still underway to bring 150 fires under control.
Pointing out that the vast majority of the fires were caused by human activity, Boluarte asked farmers to stop burning stubble.
According to Peruvian Civil Defense authorities, 16 people have lost their lives, 140 people have been injured, and more than 5 thousand hectares of land have been damaged due to the fires since July.
