Statement from Iranian press regarding negotiations with the US

Negotiations with the US regarding Iran's nuclear program will begin tomorrow in Oman.

The Iranian press shared details regarding the format of the negotiations, which will take place in the capital, Muscat, under the mediation of Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi.

According to reports, the meeting between the delegations led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, will be conducted in a format where the parties exchange written texts and there is no direct contact.

THE NEGOTIATION PROCESS BETWEEN THE US AND IRAN

US President Donald Trump, during a joint press conference at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stated, "We are holding direct talks with Iran, and they will continue on Saturday. We have a very important meeting, we will see what happens." Following Trump's statement, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed the talks but noted that the contacts would be conducted indirectly, not directly.

"THE US SHOULD EVALUATE THIS DECISION WELL"

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated today, "We are giving diplomacy a real chance. Despite its hostile rhetoric, the US should evaluate this decision well."

Meanwhile, Ali Shamkhani, political advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said in a social media post earlier today, "The Iranian Foreign Minister is going to Oman with full authority for indirect talks with the US. Tehran wants a real and fair agreement, away from media spectacles. Important and viable proposals have been prepared. If Washington shows determination for a deal, the path to an agreement will be open."
