The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India is preparing to ban pilots and cabin crew from using perfume.
According to a report by The Hindu, the DGCA has proposed an amendment to the regulations regarding the use of alcohol-based products.
Although the current regulations already include provisions for pilots and cabin crew regarding the use of alcohol-containing products such as mouthwash and tooth gel before flights, the newly proposed regulation also addresses the use of perfume.
The new regulation states that perfume should not be used by crew members, as it could otherwise lead to positive results in breathalyzer tests.
It was emphasized that crew members who use products or medications containing alcohol due to health conditions must be examined by a company doctor before their flight.
