Strategic bomber crashes in Russia

A Tupolev Tu-22M3 strategic bomber has crashed in the city of Irkutsk, located in Russia's Siberia region, while on a training flight. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the aircraft was not carrying any ammunition and that the accident occurred as it began its descent for landing. The ministry noted that the crew members ejected from the aircraft and are in good health. While the cause of the crash is not yet known, an investigation into the incident has been launched.

The Russian press reported that the aircraft was stationed at the Belaya Air Base, noting that this base was one of the five Russian air bases targeted during Ukraine's large-scale drone attacks, referred to as "Operation Spider Web."
