In a statement from the ministry, it was stated that the attack on diplomatic and consular facilities, whose immunity is guaranteed under the Vienna Convention, is unacceptable.
Pointing out that the attack on the Iranian Consulate was carried out in a densely populated area with a high risk of mass casualties among the civilian population, the statement said, "We strongly condemn this attack on the Iranian consular building in Syria. We proceed from the fact that such aggressive actions by Israel are absolutely unacceptable and must be stopped."
Emphasizing that it is necessary for all responsible members of the international community to clearly state their positions and provide an appropriate legal assessment regarding these actions, the statement said, "We urge the Israeli leadership to abandon the practice of provocative military actions in Syria and other neighboring countries, which lead to extremely dangerous consequences throughout the entire region."
AIRSTRIKE ON THE CONSULATE
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced in a statement that 7 officials, including Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, lost their lives in the missile attack carried out by Israel on the consulate building within the Iranian Embassy complex in Damascus.
The Tel Aviv administration, however, has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus.
