Sudani and Pezeshkian discuss Syria and Gaza

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone call to discuss developments in Syria and regional security issues. The war in Gaza and the security situation in Syria were at the forefront of the conversation.

According to a written statement from the Iraqi Prime Minister's Press Office, Sudani and Pezeshkian held a phone conversation. The discussion focused on recent events in Syria, regional developments, and the crimes committed by Israel against civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of continuing and coordinating efforts among all countries in the region to stop the war in Gaza and prevent the situation in Syria from deteriorating in a way that would threaten the security and stability of the region.

Iraqi Prime Minister Sudani had discussed the developments in Syria with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad yesterday and with King Abdullah II of Jordan today.
