In a poll conducted in the US, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has overtaken Republican candidate Donald Trump for the first time since the race between the two began. In all polls conducted to date regarding the elections to be held on November 5, Trump had appeared to be in the lead.
In the poll conducted by CBS News and YouGov in the US between September 18-20, 3,129 registered voters were asked for their views on the presidential election to be held on November 5.
The poll results showed that Harris reached 52 percent, moving 4 points ahead of Trump, who received 48 percent support.
It was determined that voters who prioritize a candidate's personal characteristics vote for Harris, while those who support Trump focus on the candidate's policies.

While the majority of those who vote for Harris believe that immigrants do jobs that Americans will not do, the majority of Trump's voters believe that immigrants commit more crimes and take jobs away from citizens.
73 percent of Trump supporters think that immigrants are making society worse.
Similarly, 69 percent of Trump supporters believe that the claims about immigrants eating pet cats and dogs are true.
While 83 percent of those who participated in the poll think that the tone and level of civility in US politics are deteriorating, 71 percent say that democracy is under threat.
