Following reports in the Syrian press that Hezbollah members had abducted and killed three soldiers serving in the Syrian army yesterday, clashes have broken out on the Syria-Lebanon border.

An unnamed official from the Syrian Ministry of Defense stated that the Syrian army has been shelling Hezbollah positions along the border.

While the Lebanese army handed over the bodies of the three killed Syrian soldiers to the Syrian side, Hezbollah announced that it had no connection to the abduction and killing of the Syrian soldiers.

ORDER TO RETALIATE FROM AOUN

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun ordered the army to return fire coming from the northern and eastern borders of Syria. Aoun declared that he would "not allow" the clashes at the border to continue.
