Syrian Interior Minister al-Rahmoun: No one can breach the defense line

The advance of opposition forces clashing with the Assad regime's troops in Syria continues. Syrian Interior Minister Mohammad Khaled al-Rahmoun made statements following the encirclement of the capital, Damascus, by opposition groups.

In a statement to state television, al-Rahmoun said that security forces have established an impenetrable cordon around Damascus today. Al-Rahmoun stated, "There is a very strong security and military cordon at the furthest points of Damascus and its countryside, and no one can breach this defense line that we have built as armed forces."

In a statement issued by the General Command of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces, it was noted, "Our armed units are reinforcing their lines throughout the Damascus countryside and the southern region. Operations have been launched in the Hama and Homs countrysides and the northern Daraa countryside."

"WE HAVE BEGUN SENDING REINFORCEMENTS"

Meanwhile, commander Hassan Abdul Ghany, who leads the opposition armed groups, announced, "We have begun sending more reinforcements from the north and south to support our ongoing operations in the capital, Damascus."
