Syrian National Army in Tel Rifat city center
It has been reported that the Syrian National Army (SNA), also known as the Free Syrian Army, has reached the center of the Tel Rifat district as part of the "Dawn of Freedom" operation. Tel Rifat had been under the occupation of the YPG/PKK terrorist organization for 8 years.

It has been reported that the Syrian National Army, known as the Free Syrian Army, which has been clashing with PKK/YPG terrorists holed up in Tel Rifat, entered the district from Deir Jamal in the west and reached the city center.
According to AA, the SNA units, which have also reached the village of Hirbil in the east of Tel Rifat, continue to advance in the outskirts of the district.
SNA units, which are carrying out fortification work in the center, have begun search and sweep operations.
Tel Rifat, located 18 kilometers from the Turkish border, had been under the occupation of YPG/PKK terrorists for 8 years.
OPERATION DAWN OF FREEDOM
Following the launch of an operation against Aleppo by anti-regime armed groups on November 27, the Syrian regime forces collaborated with the PKK/YPG terrorist organization and handed over some regions to the group.
The terrorist organization, which brought reinforcements to the Aleppo region from the east of the Euphrates River, began to fortify these areas.
In response to preparations to establish a terror corridor between Tel Rifat and Manbij, which is also under the organization's occupation, the Syrian National Army launched Operation Dawn of Freedom against the group. In the operation, Tel Rifat, which was occupied by terrorists, was besieged, and the plan was thwarted.
PKK/YPG'S OCCUPATION OF TEL RIFAT
YPG/PKK terrorists captured Tel Rifat and some settlements in its vicinity in February 2016 with Russian air support. The terrorist organization displaced approximately 250,000 civilians from Tel Rifat and its surroundings, and this population took refuge in areas near the Turkish border.
From there, the YPG/PKK was carrying out attacks on settlements in the Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch operation areas, as well as on Turkish security forces and opposition fighter positions providing security.
The terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which occupied the Tel Rifat district, tried to hold the district by acting in concert with the Bashar al-Assad regime and its supporters. Following the entry of anti-Assad regime armed groups into Aleppo city center on November 29, regime forces withdrew their elements from Tel Rifat.
