Tense hours in the Red Sea
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that it shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) launched from Houthi-controlled territory in the southern Red Sea.

CENTCOM shared a post regarding the matter on its X social media account.
The post stated that the US Navy ship "USS Laboon" shot down the UAV launched from the region controlled by the Houthis in Yemen in the southern Red Sea, noting that there were no casualties or damage in the incident.
US MEASURES IN THE RED SEA
The US Department of Defense announced on December 6, 2023, that they were in talks to establish an international "Maritime Task Force" against attacks by Houthi forces in Yemen on commercial ships in the Red Sea, and on December 18, 2023, it announced the creation of a multinational mission called "Operation Prosperity Guardian".
