UNIFIL, which is tasked with monitoring the border between Lebanon and Israel known as the "Blue Line," issued a written statement regarding the tensions that began with rockets fired from Lebanese territory into Israel, followed by an Israeli response.

Stating that they are in contact with both sides to prevent the situation from escalating further, UNIFIL noted that its forces will remain at their posts.

The statement called on both parties to act with restraint to prevent the security situation from deteriorating further.

The Israeli military announced in the morning that a rocket attack had been carried out from Lebanon against a military observation post in Israel, and that they had responded with artillery fire.

Hezbollah in Lebanon claimed responsibility for the attack on the military post on the Israeli border.
