In the United States (US), which is preparing to head to the polls for the presidential election on November 5, 2024, an assassination attempt was made on former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, at his rally in Pennsylvania.
While the attacker was killed, New York Times photojournalist Doug Mills captured a very striking snapshot.
Mills, who was following Trump's rally from the front row, recorded the moments a bullet was traveling toward Trump.
In the photos, a bullet can be seen passing by Trump's head.
Evaluating the photograph, Michael Harrigan, a retired special agent who worked at the FBI for 22 years, said, "It is definitely air displacement caused by a bullet. The angle seems a bit low to pass by his ear, but it is not impossible if the gunman fired multiple rounds." Harrigan stated that this could be the bullet that struck Trump's ear. Harrigan noted that the bullet can be seen traveling in the photo taken by Mills.
