A classified intelligence report published in the US has brought new debates regarding Iran's military capacity. The report, featured in the American press, claims that Iran has maintained the majority of its military assets, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz. The report also alleges that the US military has experienced a serious decline in some of its critical ammunition stocks.

The New York Times reported that 30 of the 33 missile launchers possessed by Iran remain accessible. It was claimed that approximately 70 percent of Iran's missile stockpiles are in usable condition.

The report also included an assessment that Iran maintains military capacity that could pose a threat to American warships.

ASSESSMENT REGARDING UNDERGROUND MILITARY FACILITIES

The report claims that a significant portion of Iran's underground missile storage and launch facilities are active. Based on data obtained from satellite imagery and surveillance systems, it was suggested that approximately 90 percent of the underground facilities across the country are usable.

CLAIMS OF LOSSES IN US AMMUNITION

The classified intelligence report also stated that there has been a notable decrease in the US military's critical ammunition stocks. It was alleged that there has been heavy consumption, particularly of Tomahawk cruise missiles, Patriot air defense systems, and ATACMS ground-based missile systems.

TRUMP'S REACTIONARY POST

US President Donald Trump reacted to the news with a statement on his social media account. In his post, Trump stated, “The fake news media is saying that the Iranian enemy is militarily successful against us. This is such a false and ridiculous claim that it is practically treason. They are aiding and abetting the enemy.”

Trump also argued that 159 Iranian ships had been completely sunk. In his statement, he said, “What they are doing is giving false hope to Iran where there should be none. Only losers, ingrates, and fools produce arguments against America.”
