Australian scientist Karl Kruszelnicki has debunked the myth that there is a high number of disappearances using what he calls the most common, yet most 'simple' scientific theory.

The Bermuda Triangle is a massive 700,000-kilometer ocean area. The deadly region between Florida, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda has had a bad reputation over the years because many people have entered it and never returned.

Over the years, many conspiracy theories have been put forward regarding the Bermuda Triangle.

Kruszelnicki stated that the unsolved mystery of the Bermuda Triangle is due to 'human error and bad weather conditions' because of its proximity to the equator.

Kruszelnicki said, 'It is close to the equator, close to a wealthy part of the world, America, so the ship traffic in this region was very heavy.'

The scientist also emphasized that the number of disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle is similar to the number of disappearances anywhere else in the world, including the Alaska Triangle.

Kruszelnicki stated that the Bermuda region, which ships enter in the Atlantic Ocean, has 'nothing unusual' about it.

The scientist added:

'...According to the US Coast Guard, the number of people who go missing in the Bermuda Triangle is, as a percentage, the same as the number of people who go missing anywhere else in the world.'

Previously, in 1975, historian Larry Kusche had published his research on this phenomenon, which Kruszelnicki based his findings on.

As a result of a comprehensive examination of official reports regarding the ships, Kusche concluded that the reason for the disappearance of the ships was largely due to 'adverse weather conditions.'
