The world's happiest cities have been determined: Copenhagen takes the top spot
The "Happy City Index 2026," which was presented to the British Parliament in London and is considered globally, has been announced. In the report, a total of 251 cities were evaluated under six main headings: citizenship, governance, environment, economy, health, and transportation. The results of the list caused surprise in some cities.
Italy's Milan, which was the 25th happiest city last year, lost significant points within a year and fell to 80th place. This decline was described by experts as an "unexpected collapse."
At the top of the Happy City Index 2026, there is an unchanging 'Scandinavian-Swiss' dominance.
Here are the top three cities in order:
Copenhagen (Denmark): The absolute world leader with 6,954 points.
Helsinki (Finland): Maintains its stability in second place.
Geneva (Switzerland): Joins the field from the third spot.
