Two people lost their lives and 4 others were injured in an explosion that occurred following an accident involving a truck loaded with ammonium nitrate in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The incident took place in East Ujimqin in the region. A fire broke out in the truck carrying ammonium nitrate after it collided with another vehicle. Minutes after the fire started, a violent explosion occurred in the truck.
Footage recorded by bystanders showed that the explosion created a powerful shockwave. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities announced that an investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched.
