US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Putin held a one-hour phone call.
According to the Russian press, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov announced that the call was initiated by US President Trump. Ushakov stated that the leaders held a comprehensive exchange of views, particularly regarding developments surrounding Iran and negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
WAR WITH IRAN AND REGIONAL TENSION
One of the main agenda items of the meeting was the war with Iran, which has brought tensions in the Middle East to a peak.
The leaders also discussed the latest situation in Ukraine, in addition to Iran.
KREMLIN'S "CONSTRUCTIVE" ASSESSMENT
While Ushakov stated that the meeting was "in a constructive format and productive in terms of content," he said that Putin made positive assessments regarding the role of the US and Trump in mediation efforts for the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
