US President Donald Trump made a critical announcement on the 12th day of the Israel-Iran war, which began on June 13. In a statement on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated that the two countries had reached an agreement on a full and complete ceasefire.
Stating that the ceasefire would enter into force within 6 hours, Trump said, "This war could have lasted longer and destroyed the entire Middle East. But it has ended."
CEASEFIRE AFTER IRAN'S MISSILE ATTACK
Following Trump's announcement, Iran launched four waves of missile attacks on Israel in the morning hours. After the attack, Iranian state television Press TV announced, "The ceasefire has begun following four waves of attacks on Israeli-occupied territories."
Throughout the 12 days of conflict, there were casualties and destruction on both sides. While Israel responded with air operations against Iran, Iran targeted Israeli territory with UAVs and missiles.
In his post on his Truth Social account titled "Congratulations to everyone!", Trump used the following expressions:
"A full and absolute CEASEFIRE has been fully agreed upon between Israel and Iran, which will begin in approximately 6 hours (after both sides complete the final missions they are currently carrying out).
This ceasefire will last for 12 hours, and at the end of this period, the war will be considered over!
Officially, Iran will initiate the ceasefire first, Israel will join the ceasefire at the end of the 12th hour, and at the end of the 24th hour, the OFFICIAL END OF THE "12-DAY WAR" will be welcomed by the whole world.
During each ceasefire, the other side will remain peaceful and respectful.
If everything goes as planned - which it will - I would like to congratulate Israel and Iran for the wisdom, courage, and intelligence they have shown in demonstrating the will to end this war.
This was a war that could have lasted for years and destroyed the entire Middle East - but it did not, and it never will!"
God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the USA, and God bless the world."
