Facing legal sanctions and financial penalties in recent times, Donald Trump has announced that he has begun selling Bibles for $59.99. In the promotional materials for Trump's latest 'product,' the phrase 'the only Bible endorsed by the US President' was used. Trump, who is experiencing difficulties financing his election campaign, also described the Bible as 'easy to read' and having a 'slim design.'
On Tuesday, Trump posted a video on the Truth Social platform urging his supporters to purchase the "God Bless the USA" Bible, which is inspired by country singer Lee Greenwood's patriotic ballad.
Directing his supporters to a website selling the book for $59.99, Trump said, "Happy Holy Week! Let's Make America Pray Again. As we lead up to Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless the USA Bible."
TRUMP HAD BEEN FINED HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS
The Bible sale began at a time when Trump is facing a serious cash crunch due to mounting legal bills while battling a series of legal charges as well as four criminal indictments. On Monday, a New York appeals court announced that if Trump posts a $175 million bond within 10 days, the collection of the $454 million penalty he received in a civil fraud case will be stayed.
Trump had already paid a $92 million bond in connection with defamation lawsuits filed by writer E. Jean Carroll, who accused him of sexual assault.
In the released video, Trump used the following expressions:
"All Americans need a Bible in their home, and I have many. It's my favorite book. I'm proud to endorse and encourage you to get this Bible. We must make America pray again."
Last month, Trump began selling gold-colored "Never Surrender High-Tops" sneakers for $399 at Sneaker Con.
