Washington has reacted to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's description of pro-regime demonstrations held against anti-regime protests in the country as "a warning to American politicians to stop their deceptions and not to rely on treacherous mercenaries."

US Senator Lindsey Graham, known for his closeness to US President Donald Trump, used striking language in a post on the social media platform X, quoting Khamenei's statements.

In his post, Graham addressed Khamenei directly, saying, "To the Ayatollah (Khamenei). We don't talk as much as we used to. Did I offend you?" Referring to claims that Khamenei might flee to Russia if anti-regime protests in Iran intensify, Graham stated, "As for your latest warning to American politicians, I hear Moscow is a winter wonderland."

Alluding to potential US military moves against Iran, Graham concluded his post with a notable warning: "Watch out for the drones."

A PROVOCATIVE STATEMENT

In another post, Graham quoted an interview featuring Iranian National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani, who said, "Trump talks too much, don't take him seriously." Describing these remarks as "a highly provocative statement about US President Donald Trump from Iran's so-called national security chief," Graham warned that those who make disparaging remarks about Trump would have to face the consequences.
