Donald Trump said that if the Gaza Strip is rebuilt following the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, it could become "even better than the Principality of Monaco." Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said in a statement yesterday that if the Gaza Strip is rebuilt following the year-long devastating war between Israel and Hamas, it could become "even better than the Principality of Monaco."
In an interview given on the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel that ignited the war, the former US president said, "With its climate, its beaches, and everything else, the Gaza Strip could become the most beautiful place in the world. The atmosphere could be great."
'PALESTINE COULD BE THE BEST IN THE MIDDLE EAST'
Without mentioning the catastrophic humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Gaza or the tens of thousands of Palestinians killed over the past year, Trump stated, "I think Gaza could be better than Monaco, the wealthy principality on the French Riviera."
Trump noted that the Palestinian sector "could be the best in the Middle East."
Trump had presented himself as a defender of Israel when the war with Hamas broke out on October 7, 2023, but in recent months he has slightly shifted his tone, implying his dissatisfaction with the way Israel is handling the war.
While referring to "videos showing the collapse of buildings" in Gaza, Trump assessed that Israel is "losing the PR war completely."
