Trump continues to praise Erdoğan: 'He is a very strong and smart man, you have to give him credit'
During a meeting at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump spoke about Turkey's role in Syria and praised AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

US President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. Following the meeting, Trump and Netanyahu made statements to the press in the Oval Office.
Making significant remarks on the Syrian issue, Trump once again expressed that he has a very good relationship with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Attaching special importance to Turkey's mission in Syria, Trump pointed to the key role the country plays in the region.
The US President expressed the friendly bond between the two leaders with the words, "I have a very good relationship with a man named Erdoğan. I know the press is mad that I like Erdoğan, but I like him, he likes me, and we have had no problems."
Stating that Turkey has achieved in the Syrian theater what other countries could not, Trump said, "Erdoğan is a very strong and smart man. He did something (in Syria) that no one else could do. You have to give him credit."
On the other hand, responding to Netanyahu's remarks regarding the problems experienced with Turkey in Syria, Trump assessed, "I think I can solve every problem you have with Turkey (regarding Syria). As long as you are reasonable; you and we must both be reasonable about this."
Finally, painting a positive picture regarding relations with Turkey, Trump said, "I have a very, very good relationship with Turkey and its leader, and I think we can solve this problem. I don't think it will be a problem right now."
