Trump dismisses Iran's move on agreement

US President Donald Trump gave a sharp response to Iran's declaration that it no longer has an obligation to comply with the Islamabad Agreement. In his assessment to the NewsNation channel, Trump used the phrase "I don't care" regarding Tehran's move.

Trump's statement came following the attacks in Jordan that left 2 US soldiers dead. Describing the loss of the soldiers' lives as a "very sad situation," Trump reiterated that Washington's primary goal is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi had argued in a statement on July 15 that the US had completely violated the Islamabad Agreement due to its attempts to reimpose military attacks and a naval blockade.

Gharibabadi had stated that under these conditions, Iran does not feel any obligation regarding the agreement. Trump's latest statement showed that the tension between the two countries continues to persist along the axis of the agreement.
