Appearing before the press at an event held at the White House, US President Donald Trump made assessments regarding the course of the talks with Iran.
Stating that the contacts held between the two countries in the last 24 hours have been quite productive, Trump said, "They want to make a deal with us, and it is very likely that we will reach an agreement. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, and they will not have one; they have already accepted this, among other issues."
Trump emphasized that Iran's military and political power has been significantly weakened. He also stated that some Iranian leaders have lost their lives and that negotiations are continuing with new officials. When asked by a member of the press, "Is there a definitive date for the deal?" he responded with the words, "This deal will happen, there is no deadline."
In his statements to the American press, Trump noted that despite the positive progress of the process, he remains cautious. Regarding the timeline for the deal, he used the phrase, "1 week for everything to be completed."
