US President Donald Trump said that Israel needs to end the war in Gaza as soon as possible. "Israel is winning the war, but they are losing the PR war," he said. Trump also argued that the Israeli lobby has lost its strong influence over the US Congress over time.
In the interview, Trump said that the ongoing war in Gaza is damaging Israel in the public eye. "They are going to have to finish it up. They might be winning, but they are not winning the PR world," he said. The US President was also asked whether he was concerned about the decline in support for Israel in his country, including among Republicans. Trump replied, "I am aware of it." He recalled that 15-20 years ago, Israel had a very powerful lobby in the US Congress. "But they have lost it completely," he said.
In a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center among US voters in March, it was revealed that support for Israel is declining among young Republicans. It was observed that the rate of those who said they have a negative view of Israel increased by 11 percent compared to 2022, reaching 53 percent.
