US President Donald Trump made statements to the US press regarding the ceasefire reached between Israel and Hamas. Trump stated that if Hamas refuses to fulfill the terms of the ceasefire agreement, Israel could resume its attacks on the Gaza Strip. Trump noted that the rescue of the 20 hostages still alive in Gaza is very important.

Touching upon the clashes between Hamas and some groups in the Gaza Strip, Trump said that Hamas is currently clearing out gangs. When asked, "What happens if Hamas refuses to lay down its arms?" Trump said, "Israel will return to the streets of Gaza as soon as I give permission."

Stating that he had to stop Israel for the sake of the ceasefire agreement, Trump said, "I had to stop them. I argued with Netanyahu."

Trump stated that 59 countries were part of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, saying, "We have never seen anything like this before. Now it is all happening. They want to be part of the Abraham Accords. Iran is no longer a problem."
