Trump: It's our turn, we will strike Iran very hard

US President Donald Trump made statements regarding the tension with Iran at an event held in the Oval Office to introduce comprehensive renovations planned for Washington Dulles International Airport. Referring to Iran's attack on a US base in Jordan, Trump said, "We will strike Iran very hard because it is our turn. Last night they tried to fire 5 rockets at us, we blocked them all."

Arguing that Iran is expecting new US attacks, Trump stated, "They know this is coming. They want us not to do it." The US President added, "We will deal them a very hard blow. I can say that because there is not much they can do about it."

Evaluating the possibility of a diplomatic solution with Iran, Trump said, "We will see if we can reach an agreement at some point."

Drone attack on US-owned LNG tanker in Egypt

When a reporter mentioned that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack had been carried out on a US-owned liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker at Egypt's Damietta Port and asked if this was linked to Iran, Trump replied, "I have been briefed on this. This is a continuation of what happened before. But everything will work out."

Allegations of portable air system shipment from China to Iran

Trump also addressed allegations that Iran would purchase approximately 400 Chinese-made portable air defense systems from China, saying, "Things like this can happen, but it would be a surprise. Chinese President Xi Jinping told me definitively that he would not be involved (in providing or selling weapons to Iran). He knows he would disappoint me."

"UK Prime Minister Burnham should open North Sea oil"

In his response to a question about political developments in the UK, Trump touched upon new Prime Minister Andy Burnham's plan to open North Sea oil fields. Arguing that if Burnham takes this step "sensibly," the UK would become a "very wealthy country," Trump stated that he had also told former Prime Minister Keir Starmer that energy resources in the region should be opened for use. Trump also stated that Burnham should address the issue of migration, claiming that the UK is negatively affected by this situation.

Tanker attack in Egypt

British maritime security firm Ambrey announced that a UAV attack was carried out on the US-owned LNG tanker "Energos Winter" at Egypt's Damietta Port on the Mediterranean coast. It was reported that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident, the crew was evacuated, and the fire on the ship was extinguished.

In a statement made by the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum, it was confirmed that a fire broke out during the incident, but no information was provided regarding a UAV attack.

Port services company Inchcape also reported in a separate statement that fires broke out on two natural gas tankers at Damietta Port. Various sources reported that the attack was carried out on the Energos Winter and that the fire spread to a nearby ship named "Gaslog Salem."
