Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
Pakistan has nominated US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for the "diplomatic role and leadership" he displayed during the recent crisis with India.

In a written statement regarding the matter, the Pakistani Prime Minister's Office stated that the mediation role Trump played during the escalating tension between India and Pakistan prevented a large-scale conflict between the two nuclear-armed nations.
The statement said, "Thanks to the intense diplomatic contacts he conducted with both Islamabad and New Delhi, Trump made it possible to achieve a ceasefire in a short time and prevented a devastating conflict that could have affected millions of people."
The statement, which noted that the decision was made to nominate Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, expressed that the US President's efforts demonstrated a commitment to peaceful resolution and dialogue, which reinforced his identity as a "true ambassador of peace."
The statement also emphasized that it welcomed Trump's sincere offers of mediation regarding the resolution of the Kashmir issue, noting that this matter is "one of the biggest obstacles to lasting stability in South Asia" and should be resolved in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
On the other hand, the statement indicated that Trump's leadership in the India-Pakistan crisis was "a continuation of pragmatic diplomacy and effective peacebuilding," and emphasized the hope that Trump would continue to play a constructive role for global stability in matters such as the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza in the Middle East and the escalating tensions following Israel's attacks on Iran.
